Protesters in Italy expressed their solidarity with Palestinians and denounced Israeli practices against them, particularly the genocide in Gaza.
This took place during a demonstration in the capital, Rome, and another in the northern city of Milan, protesting the Israeli aggression on Gaza and other Palestinian territories.
Thousands of demonstrators gathered in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in central Rome, carrying Palestinian flags and banners calling for “erasing genocides from history.”
The protesters marched towards Via dei Fori Imperiali, chanting slogans against Israeli attacks on Gaza and in support of Palestinians, such as “Free Palestine” and “Israel is a fascist and terrorist state.”
Some participants also carried images of politicians, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, painted red to denounce their failure to stop the genocide in Gaza.
In a statement to reporters, Youssef Salman, head of the “Palestinian Community in Rome,” described the ceasefire and halting of airstrikes as a positive step but pointed out the absence of any political solution to the crisis.
In Milan, a similar march was held in support of Palestine, with participants emphasizing that the ceasefire in Gaza does not erase the Israeli crimes committed there.
