France Condemns Trump’s Proposal on Gaza as a Threat to Stability and Peace

The French government has strongly condemned former U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to take control of Gaza and forcibly displace its Palestinian residents, calling it a “dangerous” threat to regional stability and the peace process.

In a recent statement, French government spokesperson Olivia Grégoire stressed that such remarks violate international law and undermine efforts to achieve a two-state solution.

Echoing this stance, French Foreign Ministry spokesperson Christophe Lemoine rejected Trump’s proposal, warning that any attempt to impose external control over Gaza or expel its residents constitutes a serious violation of international law and hampers the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people. He further cautioned that such actions could destabilize the broader region, including key partners such as Egypt and Jordan.

France reaffirmed its position that Gaza’s future must be part of an independent Palestinian state and should not fall under the control of a third party.

Trump’s remarks have sparked widespread condemnation from the international community, with many viewing them as a direct threat to peace efforts in the Middle East.
