The Palestinian community in the German city of Bremen organized a large demonstration today to denounce the ongoing aggression and massacres committed by the Israeli occupation in Gaza and Lebanon. The protest was attended by members of Arab and Islamic communities, European supporters, and representatives from German political parties.
Participants in the march, which took place on the city’s main street on Wednesday morning, carried Palestinian and Lebanese flags alongside banners expressing solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese people. The banners also condemned the crimes committed by the Israeli military against civilians in Gaza and Lebanon.
Protesters chanted slogans calling for freedom for Palestine and Lebanon, an end to the war, a halt to the killing of civilians and children, and the urgent delivery of humanitarian and medical aid to both populations.
Samir Aslan, the head of the Palestinian community in Bremen and its surrounding areas, stated that the demonstration aimed to show solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese people during this war, where children are being killed before the eyes of the world without any action being taken.
With U.S. support, the Israeli occupation has been waging a war on Gaza since October 7, leaving over 136,000 Palestinians dead or injured, most of them children and women, with more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and a devastating famine.
In defiance of the international community, Israel continues its war, disregarding a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire and orders from the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
